Welcome to my new site, and to this little corner of the internet where I’ll be sharing thoughts on copywriting, strategy, and how the right words can make your business shine.

This isn’t my first rodeo as a writer — but it is a new approach to how I’m doing business. So I thought I’d start by telling you a bit about who I am, why I started this brand, and what you can expect here.

I expect most people reading this are potential clients, checking me out to see if we’re a good fit. 👀👀👀

So let’s start!

From Crayons to Copywriting

I wasn’t always “a copywriter.” My career includes nonprofits, tech, finance, and project management — but somehow, people I worked with always found out I was a good writer, and my job description always expanded to include lots of writing!

  • At nonprofits, I saw firsthand how important it was to get people to click through, read, and engage — whether it was a culturally sensitive newsletter, ethical ads, or a multimillion-dollar grant proposal (fun fact: one of the grants I wrote actually came back with 20% more funding than we’d asked for, which almost never happens).
  • As a professional project manager, I helped write and promote technical, engineering, efficiency, and health and safety standards — translating jargon into plain language people could actually use. That included writing magazine articles about our riveting (but very important!) standards.
  • When helping edit and write online courses, I also somehow became the main editor and staff writer for an industry leading magazine on responsible investment!
  • In tech, I got deep into web development and even built apps. That gave me a real appreciation for usability, accessibility, mobile-first design, and how those tie into SEO.

Speaking of tech, when I began freelance web design & development, something kept happening…

I would make suggestions on wording for websites to make them more effective. Soon I was almost always asked for help with SEO, copywriting, and more.

Before I knew it, I was doing way more copywriting than web stuff.

So I spent all these years training and upskilling to be part of tech, and somehow landed back into something I’ve been doing since I was a kid!

Funny how that works…but at the very least, all these other experiences make me a stronger writer today, knowledgeable about different industries and able to adapt quickly.

(If you’re curious about the copywriting industry, here’s a bit more about what we do.)

Why a New Brand?

For years, I worked with all kinds of clients, from solo entrepreneurs to international corporations. And I began to notice something I’d heard other folks mention over the years:

Smaller budget projects often came with a bonus of stress on the side. Even when I loved the people, the work didn’t always get the space it needed to really shine. The smaller the project, the more likely I was to be nickeled and dimed, have people question how I spent every minute, and have to chase for small payments.

Clients with larger project budgets, who knew the value of copywriting, usually came in ready to invest. They trusted the process, made payments without fuss, and gave me the freedom to do my best work.

I realized I wanted more of that: meaningful partnerships where we could go beyond “good enough” and push the copy over the edge into great. So with VIP Copywriting Services, I’ve chosen to work with just a handful of clients at a time. That way, they get my focus, and I get the joy of doing the kind of work I’m proud to put my name on.

And yes — every now and then I still take on pro bono projects. I’m forever part of the nonprofit / social enterprise world. But those are projects I select proactively, often based on “insider knowledge” of where the collaboration would really make sense!

Values Matter Most

One more thing you should know about me: I care about the bigger picture.

I don’t believe you need to be a charity or a social enterprise to deserve great copy. But I do believe in working with clients whose values align with mine.

When I worked at agencies, sometimes I was asked to promote things that didn’t sit right with me — like anti-science “health” claims or predatory weight loss products. Those experiences taught me that I do my best work when I genuinely believe in the message.

A Quick Note on SEO (Tip included!)

If you’ve clicked around, you’ll see this site is a bit minimal at the moment. That’s intentional.

You’re probably familiar with what an MVP is — Minimum Viable Product. Launch with the essentials, get feedback, and improve over time. Websites can work the same way.

From an SEO perspective, it’s better to get content out sooner rather than later. The search engines can’t start getting to know you until your words are live.

✨ That’s your first SEO tip right there: publish early, improve as you go!

So instead of waiting until I have 20 polished service pages and blog posts with every last detail in place, I’m starting now. This blog will grow, the case studies will expand, and new pages will pop up.

What to Expect Here

This blog won’t just be “SEO content.” Yes, I’ll write posts optimized for search (like what to look for in a copywriting service). But I’ll also write posts like this one — more personal, behind-the-scenes, and sometimes a little nerdy about the craft of copy.

You’ll see:

  • Case studies of client projects (with the juicy details about what worked and why).
  • Practical tips on things like lead magnets, email sequences, websites, and sales pages.
  • My thoughts on the balance between strategy and creativity, and how to sell without being spammy.

Above all, I want to use this space to connect with people who value thoughtful, strategic copy. Clients who understand that words aren’t filler, they can be the engines that move a business forward in their chosen direction.

Final Thought

I want my clients to love working with me, and I want to love working with them. That’s why this brand exists.

So…welcome! I’m glad you’re here. Whether you’re a business owner curious about copywriting, a fellow marketer, or just someone who likes peeking behind the curtain, I hope you’ll stick around.

Here’s to more words that work, for people doing good stuff around the world.
